About us
Kvasir.studio was founded around a simple idea:
to create furniture and accessories that make board games better to play — and easier to live with.
The studio was founded by Anders and Dan, who worked together for more than 10 years at The LEGO Group, designing furniture, fixtures, and store concepts with a strong focus on quality, function, and long-term durability.
Over the years, they collaborated closely on projects where precision and craftsmanship were essential — especially when timelines were tight and expectations high.
The idea for Kvasir.studio began with Anders, a passionate board gamer, who was looking for a table that could support long, immersive games without compromising everyday living.
The solution didn’t exist.
So they decided to design it themselves.
Dan approaches games differently.
While he enjoys playing, his strength lies in product development, construction, and execution — and in knowing when a design is truly ready to leave the workshop.
What unites them is a shared belief in Nordic design principles:
honest materials, calm proportions, and solutions made to last.
Kvasir.studio does not design for attention.
We design for use.
Our products are meant to support the game — not distract from it.
To create calmer tables, better flow, and more enjoyable play.
This philosophy is what shaped the ava table and our tray system.
And it continues to guide everything we create.
Anders J. Dissing
First, I am a dad and husband living in Denmark, that love board games, football and traveling the world. I am energetic, a hedonist and an optimist that believes, together we can make difference to the environment and our future generations.
Second, I am a trained Danish Architect that have been designing furniture and play areas since 2010 at LEGO System A/S. Before that I worked as an architect, designing interior, commercial and residential buildings for 5 years. I see myself as an entrepreneur with a soft spot for future studies and latest technologies.
In 2022, Dan and I partnered up to create KVASIR.studio. I will be enjoying this journey and be investing all the energy that is needed to make this come to life! I will be a Kvasidian.
Dan Evans
Since starting out in the family manufacturing business in 1992, I have come a long way. From learning different production techniques in wood, metal an plastic to running machines and onto days behind a computer I have been around commercial furniture design ever since.
I have been fortunate to work with some of the worlds best brands designing retail interiors and workspaces.
Personally, I am a proud Dad of 3 who take up a lot of spare time but when I get the chance I liked to get out on my mountain bike, surf [yes even here in the UK] and if my old legs allow it still run around a football pitch!
