Newsletter 19 - August ‘24

Dear Kvasidians,

Another month has come and gone, busy as always. In addition to launching our new campaign, finalizing details related to the shipping of the first batch, and updating our website, I've been busy preparing to move to a new house, fulfilling my responsibilities at the LEGO Group, and spending quality time with my family.

All 16 tables have found their new homes. One is on its way to the USA, another will be picked up this week, and the final table will be collected in Skanderborg, Denmark by the end of September.

The only table that hasn't found a place yet is our red elm table. We will be hosting an auction for it in mid-September. Please see below for further details.

For table queries, reach out at contact@kvasir.studio

What’s new

Auction

We've decided to host an auction for the red elm table in hopes of finding it a new home just like its siblings. This table may be the black sheep of the family, but it shares the same exceptional qualities as the rest.

The auction will take place on a Facebook group, and we will send out a week's notice to ensure you can participate. Detailed information about the auction's location and process will be shared in a separate email when we're ready. Please note, shipping costs will be additional to the auction price, and Danish VAT will be included.

Additionally, we'll post notifications about the auction on our Facebook group.

Campaign News

As we prepare for a new crowdfunding campaign by mid-October, we've begun our pre-launch efforts. Our focus will be on the Nordics, Benelux, and Germany, as we've observed significant interest in our tables from these regions. However, this doesn't imply that the rest of the world won't be able to purchase a table in October; this is merely our pre-launch focus area.

Just like our previous campaign, we will be collaborating with Crowdfunding Nerds. We are thrilled to work closely with them again. Over the past month, we have attempted to manage the situation ourselves with minimal success, acknowledging that we need professional help. We believe that Crowdfunding Nerds are among the best in the field to assist us moving forward.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in our Facebook group or directly at our email, contact@kvasir.studio.

Newsletter update

As part of preparing for the upcoming campaign, we intend to update our website, www.kvasir.studio. We've encountered challenges selecting the appropriate currency for our shop, leading to discussions about a new platform in the future - hopefully, a problem for 2025. For the time being, Dan has enabled subscription to our newsletters on the site and uploaded all our past newsletters.

If you're in need of night time reading, this could be your go-to. Joking aside, this step is taken to ensure complete transparency in our development. Dan and I embarked on this journey nearly two years ago, and we're more than happy to share our story should anyone find it intriguing.

What’s coming next

September expectations

This month, we're getting set up on Gamefound and running pre-launch campaigns. By the time you receive our 20th newsletter, you'll also receive a 'notify me on launch' update. The best part is, we've learned how to manage shipping more effectively and we're clear on our production lead time.

If you encounter our promotions, please like and share within your own community. This simple act can make a massive difference to us and aid in distributing more tables worldwide.

Furthermore, we'll be planting 16 trees this month. As promised in our Kickstarter campaign this year, we commit to planting a tree for every table we sell. Hence, 16 new oak trees will be introduced to the world. Hopefully Kvasir.studio will be round to harvest its own trees in a future far, far away.

Final thoughts

I'm eagerly anticipating the move into our new house. The process of painting and renovating a house while juggling two jobs and spending quality time with the family is undoubtedly stressful. Fortunately, both my children are more than happy to lend a hand, painting and assisting wherever necessary, which gives a bit of time together.

Last weekend, once we finished our tasks in the house, we played Pitchcars and Zombie Kids, two of my favorite games to enjoy with my children. We always find ourselves in fits of laughter over our terrible skills at flicking cars. In our Zombie Kids game, the zombies have unique names, and for some reason, "Anna" always seems to be the hardest zombie to get rid of. The high-five exchange when a door is locked brings me simple joy.

In my gaming group, we played just one game, Scythe. It remains one of my favorites, where I've upgraded nearly everything. We engaged in a tight, 4-player game that was ultimately decided in the final round. The Nordic Kingdoms made a daring move for the factory, and despite trailing for most of the game, they emerged victoriously.

Till next time, have an awesome time,
Anders
