Newsletter 17 - June ‘24
My dear Kvasidians,
It's a typical summer in Denmark, filled with days of lovely sunshine and occasional showers. We're fully immersed in planning and executing our next campaign, and we can't wait to share the progress with you. We've wrapped up production, and are fanializing packaging - we even managed to do a bit customization to one table! It's been a wonderfully busy period for us!
Tables are still avaliable, both oak with white legs and the red elm table with walnut stain and black legs. The last one is without extension plate. If you're interested in acquiring this one, please let us know.

What’s new
Production Completion
We have completed production and are now preparing for packaging this week. By the end of this week, everything will be packed and ready for shipping the following week. Your tables should start arriving soon. This is an extremely exciting time for us! Dan is finalizing the assembly video this week too, which we will share in our Facebook group once it's ready. The video will also be available on YouTube. Everyone who has purchased a table will receive a link to the video as soon as it's finalized via mail.
Future
In June, Dan and I meet in Denmark for the first time this year to discuss the future of Kvasir.studio. We're considering launching another crowdfunding campaign and are investigating methods to decrease shipping expenses to the USA and Canada. One possibility we're exploring is producing our products in the USA or Canada, which alos would significantly reduce our environmental impact.
Our website needs an overhaul, and we're evaluating alternatives to the oak table. We're currently inspecting a smoked oak solution, probably with white legs. This solution would still use Danish wood, enabling Jyndbjerg to smoke the wood themselves. This method is a traditional Danish technique for darkening the wood, and we're quite fond of the end look and feel.

Customisation
We want to exceed the needs of the boardgamer ensuring that each table purchaser gets exactly what they want. Collaborating with Jyndbjerg is a significant part of this process as they excel at manufacturing in large quantities, while also adapting seamlessly to changes as required. One of the tables we are distributing includes card groowes in the rails. There was an additional cost, but it allowed us to test Jyndbjerg's adaptability to new opportunities, resulting in a smooth experience. We look forward to sharing this with you once it's assembled.
That being said, we strive to keep custom solutions impactful, yet minimal. This dialogue will continue as we further develop our tables. If you have any unique ideas, we would love to hear them in our Facebook group.
What’s coming next
July expectations
We have finalized production and all EU shipping should be done by end of month July. The tables going to the USA have a longer leadtime and they should be receiving their table by latest beginning of September. July will also be the month where we finalize preperation for our next campanign. Which should hopefully go live in August if everything goes to plan.
Final thoughts
I can't wait to see tables in homes around Europe and the USA. This is the moment Dan and I dreamt of when embarking on this journey. We hope this will help build trust in us and when we initiate our second run of production, we aim to reach even more board gamers around the world.
As for games, I played Hegemony for the first time and what a game! It's a challenging one to understand at first but very intuitive once you get the hang of it. It's one of those games where we ended up talking for another 30 minutes just to figure out how we could beat the working class in our next game.
Summer vacation is also coming up and I'm starting to plan which games to bring. We're flying, so I need to plan it well.
Till next time, have an awesome time,
Anders
